What Is An Air Ratchet Wrench Used For
Air ratchets are used in heavy manufacturing, heavy construction, automotive and aerospace industries, using force from high-pressure gas (75 psi to 120 psi) and converting it into powerful but controllable torque through a series of turbines, gearboxes and ratchets .
Pneumatic ratchets, also known as pneumatic ratchet torque wrenches, are popular and useful tools for tightening and loosening bolts. Air ratchets are used in heavy manufacturing, heavy construction, automotive and aerospace industries, using force from high-pressure gas (75 psi to 120 psi) and converting it into powerful but controllable torque through a series of turbines, gearboxes and ratchets .
The pressure of the compressed gas is converted into mechanical energy by a small pneumatic turbine located in the lower handle of the tool. Similar to a windmill, high-pressure air pushes sturdy blades (called "blades") that run parallel to the shaft of the turbine (Figure 1) to generate torque. When the user presses the trigger, pressurized air is released into the inlet opening on the chamber wall. At the same time, the outlet opening to the exhaust line is on the other side of the chamber. In order to balance the pressure (the compressed gas pressure is dozens of times the atmospheric pressure), the inlet air will rush towards the outlet opening, pushing the blades in the process. Because the pressure of the atmosphere and compressed air are constant, this powerful air shock is constant, resulting in a constant RPM of the blade-lined turbine.
It's also have 1/2-inches ,3/8-inches or 1/4-inches drive head, for different work and fit the different sockets.
